Luckily this desire has been recognised by a number of travel companies and now it is fairly easy to travel to the area in a bus or a coach. As such, here’s a quick guide to travel by bus from Singapore to Mersing for people who may be interested in leaving the hustle and bustle of Singapore behind for a day.
The first thing to note is that coaches into Mersing leave early in the morning, with services at 6:15am and 9:30am being the only two that run during the day. Another trip would be at 10pm and 10.30pm respectively. As such you should be prepared to travel early and perhaps arrange a return trip unless you are intending to stay the night in Mersing.
There are few bus companies that are offering this service, which includes The One Travel and Tours, WTS Travel, Transnasional and Coach Center. Different operator are having different pickup points, you might want to chose the one that is most suitable for you. The pick up points are Golden Mile Complex, Singapore Flyer, The Plaza and Textile Center. All these buses will drop the passenger to the center of Mersing.
The only bus company that offer central TV service is The One Travel and Tour, if you would like to have some entertainment along the way this is the only bus company that is offering this service.
Service offered by Transnasional is much cheaper. Tickets for this coach generally cost about S$14.35 SGD with S$1.5 SGD surcharge for the tickets but even with this on top it is a much cheaper option than the service run by the rest of the operators so be sure to book your ticket early if you would like a seat.
