Tioman is home to some of the most gorgeous beaches in all of Malaysia so it is no surprise at all that many a tourist wants to head down to the area to soak up a few rays and enjoy the beautiful sand and sea.
For many, the bus is the simplest way for those staying in Singapore to reach Tioman and luckily there are a number of buses that all travel to different parts of the town. This quick guide to travel by bus from Singapore to Tioman will give you just a little bit more information before you pack your bathing suit and head off to the coast.
Firstly it is important to note that all of the services into Tioman are operated by WTS Travel, which is one of the most reliable bus and coach operators for popular tourist destinations. The company puts out six buses, which can each seat 42 people, every morning at 6:30am.
Every coach travels from the Singapore Flyer so it is important to get your ticket booked early and ensure that you get on the correct bus. Tioman is an extremely popular destination so you can almost guarantee that the coaches will be busy.
The six coaches each travel to a different location in Tioman, with Kampung Air Batang, Kampung Genting, Kampung Paya, Kampung Salang, Panuba Bay and Tekek all being covered so there are plenty of places for holidaymakers to choose from. Travel costs S$41 for both adults and children, so you unfortunately won’t be able to get a discount for your younger ones.
WTS also offers a convenient return bus service that leaves Tioman at 2pm every day, giving you a few hours at the beach before you come back into Singapore. Of course you can always arrange overnight accommodation if you would like to stay in Tioman longer, just be sure to arrange the correct day for your return journey if you do.
