Ipoh

Ipoh is the capital city of Perak. The city was first established around the year 1880. It become famous for the mining industry during the British colonial era. This city which is located on the northern side is the fourth largest city in Malaysia. Ipoh is one of the most famous city when it comes to tourism. Some places of interest in Ipoh are :

Lost World Of Tambun
This is a premiere adventure theme park which is located in Tambun. Some of the great features in this theme park are water park, amusement park, tiger valley, lost world petting zoo, lost world hot spring & spa and tin valley. There are also some experiential activities like leap of faith, kayaking and going on a zip line. This theme park is also in Malaysia Guinness Book Of Record for the longest man made adventure river. The park is open everyday except on Tuesday.

Kellie’s Castle
This castle is located in Batu Gajah just 20 minutes drive from Ipoh. The castle was built by William Kellie Smith in 1915. The construction was never finished and was stopped in 1926 after the death of William due to pneumonia. Now the castle is considered as one of the greatest tourist attraction not only in Perak but also all over Malaysia

Kek Lok Tong Temple
Located in Gunung Rapat, Ipoh is the most famous cave temple in Perak. It is not only a tourist attraction but also considered as a peaceful praying place for Buddhist. The temple is surrounded by Buddhist figures, stalagmites and stalactites. It also have a award winning garden with a jogging track and natural reflexology walking stones. Other cave temple in Ipoh are Sam Poh Tong, Perak Tong(Near Kampung Tawas) and Ipoh Tong(Near Ipoh Grove)

D.R. Seenivasagam Park
Also known as Taman D.R., It is a very beautiful park with attractive facilities. The features are children’s playground, man made lake, Japanese garden, recreational field and nursery for potted plants. It is famous among all level of people to come down to relax, sports events or doing some school events

Other famous tourist attraction are Ipoh railway station which is also known as Taj Mahal of Ipoh, Polo ground, Muzium Darul Ridzuan, Gunung Lang which is famous for the surrounding garden and lake surrounded by caves, Velodrom Rakyat and the famous Gua Tempurung in Gopeng south of Ipoh (longest cave in peninsula Malaysia)
